so long and thanks for all the fish

well i didn't expect it to be a blog-free summer. i'm still alive, taken to a bit of BEBO... what a crime! as my friend Ray said of listening to football on the radio... "i can literally feel my brain cells depleting...."
i'm going to need all the brain cells i can get...especially since i'm studing Neuroscience for the next two years of my little life. gotta get to grips with all this grey and white matter stuff.
classes start next week with an introductory lecture tomorrow, with refreshments in the anatomy museum.. who wants to drink when you can see pickled ears (and there are far more offensive things than ears in there....*ewwww*)!?!?!
busy this week with CU Freshers Week which is going well, exceedingly well actually!praise God.
so to avoid rambling, i'll give you a small pictoral insight into a few of my fave summer moments!

me at Loch Ba, the day i caught my first fish! beautiful eh?!

fell in love with this 'coupon' this summer - what a belter :-)
(coupon apparently means face in glaswegian...)

and got roped into painting his room, at least it's purple!

we love a bit of the jazz banter, this is at Bar 92 (or some other number) in merchant city during the Glasgow Jazz Festival. great stuff.

he can cook you know! went camping for a few days up in Gairloch.
fry up every morning!

not the one that i caught but still, a cutie!
check out the scrumpy jack on the boat... we are classy!

stephen made me a castle when we were in Ayr. people asked to get their pictures taken in it and everything, it was the star attraction on the beach. (did take quite a few hours to build though!)

and another little day trip across to Arran, the weather being beautiful!

so i hope i haven't gushed toooooo much but it has been a wonderful summer. i hope the new term has lots to 'blog' about! off to do some recording for Pacific... we're doing a Christmas Album! watch this space.

leaving you with an attractive one! take care :)

Headteacher condemns sick message to al-Qaeda on school roof
DAVID LOVE

A CLEAN-UP is under way after sick graffiti was daubed on a school roof inviting al-Qaeda to attack it.

Janitors at Millburn Academy in Inverness were alerted to the paintwork by a pilot of a private plane who spotted the slogans from the air.

One read: "Al Quaeda [sic] land here" with a big X in white emulsion paint. Another appeared to give the initials of the possible culprit: "SOJ was here".

Now investigations are under way to try to identify the mystery artist. But rector Graham Spence said yesterday: "We had just done a clean-up of white emulsion paint elsewhere in the school.

"But we didn't know about what had been done on the roof and we are grateful that it has been brought to our attention. We take this kind of thing very seriously and we do not find it amusing, especially with all the atrocities that have taken place around the world.

"Our janitors will try to clean it up. But I don't hold out much hope of finding out who did it. The initials 'SOJ' don't mean anything to me. They could be some sort of symbolism and not necessarily refer to whoever did this.

"This is a very sick joke which many will find offensive."

Doug Gordon, who spotted the messages from the air, said: "I wasn't sure at first what I was seeing so I got as close as I could to see what was written.

"I didn't find it very funny and I am sure others will hold the same view."

chemistry - one down one to go....... no more Lineweaver-Burke plots of Michaelis Menten Equations or Steady State Theory or Temperature Jump diagrams or Friedel-Crafts Acylations.

i hate the library. soooooooooooooooooo much! but it's my only access to bebo......

found an extreme love for:
the kooks - naive
claude debussy - clair de lune
rachmaninov - piano concerto no.2 in C minor (adagio sostenuto)
source feat. candi staton - you got the love

the latter of which contains beeeaaaautiful lyrics!

Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air
I know I can count on you
Sometimes I feel like saying "Lord I just don't care"
But you've got the love I need to see me through

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough
And things go wrong no matter what I do
Now and then I feel that life is just too much
But you've got the love I need to see me through

When food is gone, You are my daily meal
When friends are gone I know my saviour's love is real
Your love is real

Every once in a while I say "Lord I can't go on"
Every once in a while I get to feeling blue
Every once in a while it seems like I am all alone
But you got the love I need to see me through

Occasionally my thoughts are brave and friends are few
Occasionally I cry out Lord what must I do
Occasionally I call up Master make me new
You've got the love I need to see me through

Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air
I know I can count on you
Sometimes I feel like saying "Lord I just don't care"
But you've got the love I need to see me through

a horrible combination

exams + bebo

has bebo actually taken over the world!?
in the library now + 4 computers in a row are on it.....

thankful

Psalm 103
Of David.
1 Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-
3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 The LORD works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
7 He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel:
8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children-
18 with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.
19 The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.
20 Praise the LORD, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.
21 Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the LORD, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the LORD, O my soul.
